A poem inspired by a book I did not enjoy, Love in the Time of Cholera. In reading this tale I couldn't wait for it to end but not because I wanted to see what happened. What I got from it was the discovery of love and interpretation of what that means for each person involved.
Darkness crawling on the skin Swirling round in cold air Cutting through the icy night Exposing all the flesh Titillating sensations Sneak into your soul Crafting a new listless curiosity Outside Inside Outside Inside It divides
Fall in me Collide with my life Ignite the fervor Permit the passions Awaken the fire Then douse the flames
